What Color?

Below are some ideas for color and for siding types. Should it be clappboard? Should it be cedar shingles? If shingles, what type? Fishscale, octogon, square, diamond, a mix?

Introduction

This is our second house. Ok, it's Kristin's second house and my first. This one's much larger and in need of much more work. MOST of it is cosmetic, so we thought. But what isn't cosmetic, is doable. 

It's an 1892 Victorian farm house. It's gone through many changes, we're sure. It was abandoned for 14 years before the recent previous owner bought it. She purchased it in 2004 and did some, well, updating...

What was done, is working and makes the house livable.  Right now, that's all we can ask for.  But we've got our work cut out for us.  We entered this with the mindset that we'd be working on this place for the next 15 years.  And it's certainly looking like we didn't over sell ourselves on that.  With our wedding date next year, we'll be short on cash for the next few years.  Hopefully this old place can hold on until then!

I'm starting this blog as a reminder of where we started, what we've accomplished and a way to keep friend's and family up to date on our progress.  We'll see how well that keeps going.  I may change to some other type of site that can help keep to do lists and such, who knows.
